With thousands of square miles of desert and wilderness areas, hiking in the great state of Arizona can't be beat, whether it is a quick day hike in the Superstition Mountains or a three day backpacking trek through the Grand Canyon. There are also hundreds of trails within the greater Phoenix or Tucson area which gives a few hours of tranquility to a nature walk among the Mesquite and Saguaro. If you are looking to cool off, skiing in the northern area of the state can be a great weekend getaway in the winter. During the summer months, you can grab an inner tube and float down the Salt River just outside of Phoenix, spend the day at a lake relaxing with friends or join a group tour for a white water adventure down one of the many rivers in the state.
